New support for small businesses announced by the Business Secretary, Vince Cable MP, has been welcomed by Marcus Jones, the MP for Nuneaton.
During parliamentary question time, Marcus took the opportunity to question the Secretary of State for Business about how information will be shared with businesses. Marcus raised the issue about manufacturers in Nuneaton that are capable of taking advantage of export opportunities with Ireland and other countries.
The MP raised concerns that many businesses do not receive the relevant information about how to take up export opportunities and asked the Minister how the Government plans to make such information more readily available to grassroots businesses in Nuneaton.
Commenting on the support for businesses, Marcus said: “There are many small businesses in Nuneaton who could benefit from accessing export opportunities but I am concerned that they are not often provided with the relevant information. I was pleased to hear from the Business Secretary that Ministers are developing a support package for businesses that involves an accessible website that will provide the information needed.”
