On the 19th of March Stoneleigh Park, near Kenilworth, will play host to Warwickshire Says No, a large scale rally for supporters of the No campaign in the upcoming referendum on the Alternative Vote.
The apolitical event will include No to AV spokesperson Charlotte Vere, as well as all six Warwickshire MPs sharing a single platform for the first time, as they explain why they are opposed to the Alternative Vote (AV).
The free event, beginning at 11am, will rally supporters of the No campaign, but is open to supporters of any political party, and those who have yet to make their mind up, or even are currently in favour of the Alternative Vote.
Speaking about the event Marcus Jones, Member of Parliament for Nuneaton, said:
“I’m delighted that we have been able to put together this event to show support in Warwickshire for the No campaign and to help people understand the issues and dangers with using the Alternative Vote system.”
“Despite the Yes Campaign’s claims, there is nothing fair about Nick Clegg’s Alternative Vote which will cost the country £250m at a time when government and the public are having to tighten their belts. Ultimately, how can a system where the person who came third wins, be fair, or right, for our democracy?”
