New research by the charity Independent Age suggests that around 1,900 Nuneaton residents over 65 are missing out on over £4,500,000 of Pension Credit that they are entitled to.
Independent Age estimates that more than 2 in 5 pensioner households who are entitled to Pension Credit do not receive it.
“I want to encourage all residents, especially the over 65s, to claim any benefits that they are entitled to.
“Pension Credit is not a “hand out” but an entitlement and it is important that this money reaches the older people who need it.”
“There is a free helpline – 0800 319 6789 – run by the charity that will offer impartial advice to any resident who thinks they might qualify for this additional financial help and I strongly recommend calling them.”
