The Coalition Government has made clear its commitment to increase the number of apprenticeships in the UK and has made it a key priority, according to local MP Marcus Jones, who is encouraging businesses in Nuneaton to take on more apprentices.
During the Comprehensive Spending Review, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP, announced the Government would fund 75,000 more adult apprenticeships each year for the next four years. The announcement was widely supported by business leaders.
Now Marcus Jones, the MP for Nuneaton, is encouraging businesses in Nuneaton to seek out the support available from Government in an effort to see more apprenticeships available in the town.
Commenting on the initiative, Marcus said: “Local firms who are interested in taking on apprenticeships or training existing members of staff will be supported through the recruitment process by the National Apprenticeship Service. There is also Government funding available to help pay for the training costs, so this really is a good opportunity for businesses in Nuneaton to give serious thought to the value apprenticeships might offer their company.”
