Local MPs Marcus Jones (Nuneaton) and Craig Tracey (North Warwickshire and Bedworth) have thanked those involved with making their recent Jobs Fair a success. The event took place at North Warwickshire and Hinckley College on 10th July.
The event attracted the support of a number of small and large businesses both local and national, as well as various voluntary sector organisations and was backed by the Jobcentre. The exhibitors included Brose Ltd, Holland & Barratt and MTC.
Whilst unemployment across the area has fallen in recent years, the two local MPs were keen to support people to get into work or improve their career prospects.
The Nuneaton MP, Marcus Jones, who has now organised four Jobs Fairs for local people, said: “Getting people into work is a real priority and these events are excellent for bringing employers and job seekers together. Over the last four years it has given me great pleasure to see people of all ages engage with employers and secure work. I thank North Warwickshire and Hinckley College for their support in hosting the event.
“I am extremely grateful to the many employers, training providers, the Jobcentre and jobseekers for making this event such a success.”
Adding, the MP for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, Craig Tracey, said: “This Jobs Fair followed previous events organised by my predecessor, Dan Byles, and I was very encouraged by the numbers of jobseekers who attended the Jobs Fair, which shows that many people are keen to find employment. I was pleased to be able to help them to engage directly with local and national employers.”
