Small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in Nuneaton are being encouraged to take part in a national initiative to help boost the number of exporting companies in the UK.
The Coalition Government launched the initiative in November 2011 and has set a target of finding up to 100,000 companies to begin exporting for the first time, or to enter a new market.
Now Marcus Jones, the MP for Nuneaton, is encouraging businesses in Nuneaton to explore the potential opportunities it might provide to their business and future prospects.
Commenting on the initiative, Marcus said: “This is crucial to drive growth in the UK economy as a whole and will help improve performance of the individual companies concerned. This could be a real opportunity for some businesses in Nuneaton to explore a new market and to begin exporting for the first time.”
On 28 February there is an event at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham for potential exporting SMEs being hosted by UK Trade & Industry, and sponsored by HSBC and PwC. The event will include an introduction to the support available for new exporters and workshops on UKTI services, financing exports and Intellectual Property Rights.
Adding, Marcus said: “I would encourage any business in Nuneaton who is considering exporting to attend the event at the ICC.”
