Local MP Marcus Jones is wishing Nuneaton people a happy St Georges Day, which is celebrated on 23 April, the traditionally accepted date of Saint George's death in AD 303. The day is celebrated by various Christian churches and by the several nations, kingdoms, countries, and cities of which he is the patron saint.
Commenting, Marcus said: "It is right that local people should do something to celebrate St Georges Day given the historic association he has with our country. Too few places do anything meaningful to celebrate this important day, yet it is a date that is recognised in various places throughout the world.
"I'd like to wish people in my constituency a happy St Georges Day."
