Local MP Marcus Jones is urging local people to contact him with their experiences of the A5 and its junction with The Long Shoot. The move follows news that Transport Minister, Stephen Hammond MP, confirmed that a safety audit is to be carried out at the junction.
The Minister was responding to concerns expressed by Marcus following a number of constituents raising safety issues about the A5 junction with The Long Shoot. Since the safety audit was announced, the MP has received more representation from local people expressing fears about the junction’s safety.
Marcus is now asking people to contact him with their experiences which he will feedback to the Minister.
Commenting, Marcus said: “Many local people will know that I have raised concerns before about the A5 and its junction with The Long Shoot. I am delighted that Stephen has taken such a keen interest in the safety issues raised on behalf of my constituents yet I continue to receive concerns from my constituents and I am urging others who have not yet done so to contact me so that I can provide the Minister with as much information as possible.
“I would also encourage people to report any incidents, regardless of severity, to the Police as only then will they get to build a thorough picture as to the safety of the junction.”
The best method to contact Marcus is via email at [email protected] or alternatively in writing by post to: Marcus Jones MP, 13 – 17 Hollybush House, Bond Gate, Nuneaton, CV11 4AR.
