Local MP Marcus Jones has welcomed the news that a Transport Minister, Stephen Hammond MP, has confirmed that a safety audit is to be carried out on the A5.

The Minister was responding to concerns expressed by Marcus Jones following a number of constituents raising safety issues about the A5 junction with The Long Shoot.

Marcus has praised the Minister for taking a positive interest in the controversial junction.

Commenting, Marcus said: “Many local people will know that I have raised concerns before about the A5 and its junction with The Long Shoot. I am delighted that Stephen has taken such a keen interest in the safety issues raised on behalf of my constituents. I am now waiting for the results of the safety audit to be known and I intend to revisit this issue shortly to ensure that local people’s voices continue to be heard.”
