Nuneaton MP Marcus Jones has congratulated Nuneaton Town Football Club on securing promotion back to the Conference - the top flight of non-league football.

A 1 – 0 victory at Gainsborough secured the club their third promotion in just four years to take them back to the Conference.

Commenting on the achievement, Marcus said: “Since being demoted to the Southern League, the way the club has reacted has been phenomenal. Three promotions in four years says it all – it is a fantastic achievement for all involved with the club. I am delighted for the fans who have been through a lot in the past few years, including the heartbreak of missing out in the play-offs last season.

“I send my heartfelt congratulations to the club and wish them every continued success both on and off the pitch – well done Boro!”
