The town’s MP, Marcus Jones, has welcomed the much needed installation of a new ticket machine at Nuneaton train station.
The installations follows concerns raised by rail users at the MP-organised Rail User Drop In session held at ASDA at the end of 2014.
London Midland committed at the meeting to explore the possibility of installing a new ticket machine to help the station better cope with increasing demand.
Commenting, Marcus said: “This may seem like a trivial issue but it is vital that commuters and rail customers have access to quick tickets to ease pressures on their journey. This will reduce queuing at peak times.
“I am grateful to London Midland for attending my rail user drop in session and for installing the new ticket machine.
“It is vitally important that people understand that this new machine does not affect ticket office opening hours, which will remain the same. It does not replace staff at the station, but it does provide people with access to another ticket machine which will help customers.”
