The MP for Nuneaton, Arley and Hartshill, Marcus Jones, has called on the Planning Committee at North Warwickshire Borough Council to reject the Daw Mill planning application submitted by Harworth Estates.
The MP has submitted numerous representations to the Council during this process and the Committee is due to vote on Tuesday 3 November on the application. The application has been recommended for refusal by North Warwickshire Borough Council officers and the local MP is convinced that this is the correct course of action.
Commenting, Marcus said: “This is a significant proposal requiring the land in question to be removed from the green belt and this should not be a decision that is taken lightly. The development will not create new jobs for local people – they are merely jobs transferred from elsewhere.
“Local people must be listened to, they have significant highways concerns, particularly the situation at the Furnace End junction and the Birmingham Road junction in Coleshill.
“The site is in the green belt, and personally, I do not consider there to be a case for its removal for this application, which would have a detrimental impact on the local community. I am urging the Planning Committee to agree with its officers and vote to reject this application.”
