On 7th December, John Bates Chair of the Nuneaton & Bedworth Branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) was joined by Marcus Jones MP for Nuneaton for a fun and successful Christmas shopping trip in Nuneaton Town Centre to highlight the FSB’s Keep Trade Local Campaign. Starting at D.C Leakes Jewellers in Market Place, where Marcus purchased a modest pair of cuff links, before moving onto Cannon Sports, Caves the green grocers, Leonardo’s tea room and finally Haswell shoe shop. Marcus continued to buy gifts on the trip including a pair of football gloves, some Christmas nuts and a pair of slippers.
John Bates said “I was delighted to go shopping locally with Marcus and visiting a number of the unique and interesting shops that Nuneaton has to offer. It just goes to show that there are many independent places to shop this Christmas and indeed throughout the year in Nuneaton. It is important that we were able to show our support for local businesses and hope our campaign we encourage other shoppers to do the same.”
Marcus Jones MP said “I was more than happy to show my support for the FSB campaign which will hopefully encourage shoppers to Keep Trade Local throughout the year. Nuneaton has a vibrant independent retail offer across the town, with many family run businesses that offer great value for money and quality products - all with a first class service.”
