The MP for Nuneaton, Marcus Jones, and the MP for North Warwickshire & Bedworth, Dan Byles, have today announced plans for the second annual jobs fair, to be held in conjunction with North Warwickshire and Hinckley College.
As the economy begins to slowly recover and following on from the successful fair last year, which saw over 1500 people attend, the date has been set as Wednesday 24th July at the Sports Hall in the North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, Hinckley Road Campus in Nuneaton, from 10am to 4pm.
The event will see a number of local firms with current or future vacancies; providing guidance on how to gain entry into a number of sectors; as well as seminars to improve the skills and employability of individuals seeking work.
Commenting on the event, Marcus Jones said: “We are keen to help provide opportunities for those in Nuneaton, Bedworth and the surrounding areas who may be in need of work.
“Our goal is to have representatives of up to 40 locally operating organisations, and to build upon the turnout and success of last year’s event.”
Dan Byles said: “I was delighted with the success of our jobs fair in Bedworth Civic Hall last year and many of the companies involved have urged Marcus and I to arrange another one this year. Jobs and the local economy are at the top of my agenda, and it is fantastic to have the support of North Warwickshire & Hinckley College for this year’s fair. We have some world class companies here in Nuneaton & Bedworth. An event like this is the ideal way to get local jobseekers and employers together, and I would urge anyone interested in attending to get in contact for more information."
Principal and Chief Executive of North Warwickshire & Hinckley College, Marion Plant OBE, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this event for our local community. With a variety of employers taking part, the event will provide an opportunity for local people to find out about current vacancies in the area, including apprenticeships, and a number of workshops will also be taking place during the day, including CV writing. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors into the college to take part in this event.”
