Marcus Jones, Nuneaton’s MP, has been appointed as a Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS), to the Financial Secretary of the Treasury, Sajid Javid MP.
The role of the PPS, a Ministerial aide, helps the government to track backbench opinion in Parliament and working closely with Treasury Ministers, particularly Mr Javid.
Marcus’ appointment comes just weeks after being appointed by the Prime Minister to be a Small Business Ambassador for the Midlands.
Commenting on his new role, Marcus said: “I am delighted to have been asked to be Sajid’s PPS in what is a very difficult but interesting time for the economy. There is growing confidence in the economy and I am looking forward to being able to contribute in a small way to helping the country to be prosperous again.
“My overriding focus remains on representing the people of Nuneaton and I will continue to work hard for local people, although I believe that my constituency work will be enhanced as a result of my new appointment.”
