Nuneaton's MP Marcus Jones visited All Saints Primary School on Friday afternoon to announce the winner of his Christmas Card Design Competition.
Speaking to a packed school assembly, Marcus told the excited schoolchildren that the winner, picked out of hundreds of entrants from infant, junior & primary schools in his constituency, was a pupil of All Saints.
Talented Megan Key, aged 6, designed the winning card which is being used by Marcus as the design of his Christmas card this year.
Marcus also selected four runners-up, in no particular order, Cameron Jhajj, aged 8, from Chetwynd Junior School; Henry Molloy, aged 8, from Nursery Hill Primary School, Sam King, aged 4 from Whitestone Infant School and Lily Slinn aged 6, from Nathaniel Newton Infant School.
The winner and runners-up have been given a number of prizes from the MP, and Megan will be visiting London in the new year with her family for a guided tour of both Houses of Parliament, as well as tea on the terrace with Marcus.
Commenting, Marcus said: "It was fantastic to receive so many designs and I'm very grateful to each school who took part.
"Deciding on the winner was not an easy decision but I'm delighted for Megan, whose design has been used on my cards this year and will be seen by the Prime Minister, who I'm sure will be as impressed as I was with her drawing skills."
