Hard working staff at Nuneaton’s George Eliot Hospital were praised in Parliament this week.
The positive comments came from the Town’s Member of Parliament, Marcus Jones, during a debate about Accident & Emergency Departments. Marcus spoke about changing working practices at the hospital as an important way of reducing pressures on social care and on Accident and Emergency Departments.
He went onto to praise staff at the hospital for achieving the second best A&E four-hour target performance in the country during the busy Christmas and New Year period.
Commenting, Marcus said: “I meet regularly with senior management at the hospital and am fully supportive of the changes made to working practices, as part of the Keogh Review, which have been implemented at the George Eliot.
“This is a vital way of reducing the burden on our A&E services throughout the country, and in Nuneaton, I wanted to praise the work of staff at the hospital who have had some terrific results during a traditionally very busy period for our health services.”
