Nuneaton’s MP Marcus Jones has urged local business to apply for Round 6 of the Regional Growth Fund, which has today opened for bids for a share of the £200 million available, to help them grow and create jobs.
Already £430m of funding has been allocated to the West Midlands region to 69 different bids, attracting £3.3bn of private investment and supporting 114,000 jobs.
The £3.2 billion fund supports projects using private sector investment to create jobs and growth.
Locally the Fund has already supported companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, which has a large number of Nuneaton people in its workforce and employed in the crucial supply chain. The Coventry & Warwickshire LEP has also distributed funds to numerous small and medium sized firms.
Commenting, Marcus said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses here in Nuneaton to apply for funding to help them grow and create jobs.
“The Fund is already supporting 114,000 jobs and £3.3bn of private investment in our region, with funding for local businesses like Jaguar Land Rover and the LEP, and this new round will help businesses create even more.
“Creating more jobs by backing small businesses is a key part of the Conservatives’ long-term economic plan to secure a better and brighter future for Britain. Each new job this fund supports means another family with the security of a regular pay packet.”
