Marcus Jones, the MP for Nuneaton, has welcomed new figures which show the Government’s Start-Up Loans scheme is working well, but has urged more local would-be entrepreneurs to consider a Start-Up Loan. So far the scheme has supported 10 people in the town with the ideas and determination to start a new business with £77,100 of loans to help them get going.

Across the UK more than 20,000 Start-Up loans, worth over £100 million, have been awarded to help new businesses get going.

Commenting, Marcus said: “This is great news. It shows the Start-Up Loans scheme is giving people in here in Nuneaton with the ideas and determination to start a new business - who have struggled in the aftermath of Labour’s Great Recession - the finance they need to kick-start and grow it. However, whilst the scheme is working well across the country there are not as many people from Nuneaton applying as I would like to see, so I would urge local people interested in getting started in business to have a look at the scheme to see if it can help them.

By backing businesses to create more jobs, it is ensuring that more people in Nuneaton can have the security and stability of a regular pay packet, with a brighter future ahead of them.”
